Mindful Eating

Each student tasted a piece of Honeycrisp apple this morning during our MindUP session. We took the time to look at its exterior, discussing its shape and colour. We also used our senses of smell, touch and hearing while tasting it.

Discussing, prepping and eating food in class is an excellent way to encourage the students to try new things. I wasn’t able to do a lot of cooking last year, as I was only teaching part time, so I’m really excited about being back full time in the classroom.
