In a Classroom Near You – Part 2

Good morning Parents & Friends,

As mentioned in my previous post, the information you will read here was collected by Scott Susin, a teacher from Mission. It describes the reality of a BC classroom really well. Class size & composition is SO important! Pay attention to the numbers, try to visualize what a day in a classroom like this can be like.

As Erica Jaaf said it so well on Twitter back in June, “Teachers’ working conditions are your kids’ learning conditions.”

How would you feel if your son or daughter was the one being neglected because there isn’t enough people and support around? Do you realise that because there are so many students with needs we cannot help the most quiet ones and the ones that are doing ok in school? All kids need to feel supported and this is why I urge you to speak up.

I attended a great meeting last night concerning education. Here is what I was able to write down on my phone during the meeting, should you want to take a look at my notes.  What I learned again at this meeting is that our voices are being heard and the Government IS feeling the pressure.

Thank you for your support!
