Soup for Technology – Pictures & Feedback

The soup lunch was a success! Most students participated in washing, cutting and prepping the ingredients, as well as cooking the soup. I didn’t think I’d be able to pull it off but I was able to teach a math lesson at the same time as we were making the soup. This is how it went:

-One series of math examples shared (entire class listening and participating)

-One series of cooking instructions given (entire class on hold while one student would execute a cooking task)

Unfortunately, the noodles took longer to cook so we had to wait until coming back from lunch to eat it.

Fortunately, the soup was delicious, despite not having really followed a recipe.

All in all it was a lot of fun. I have no idea how much money was raised but when the dust settles (today was a bit crazy due to the strings concert), I will give the money to my secretaries to count.

The money we raised for Purple Day as well as the pennies raised these past two weeks also need to be counted. It might take a while but I know we’ll get there before the end of the school year.

What’s next? Smoothies? We may have found one interested class to be our potential clients. Stay tuned…

P.S. Sorry about the blurry shots. At least you can still see the big smiles on the student’s faces!
