French is everywhere, even in Science texts! Here’s a little activity we did in class using Post-it notes. The students were asked to highlight new words found in a text I gave them and share their words with their group.
This first picture shows every group’s new words, all tallied up onto one Post-it note:
After discussing some of the new vocabulary words, the students were asked to come up with their own definition of “consommateurs” and “producteurs”. There was a bit of confusion with these two terms (some argued that cows and chickens were “producteurs” since one produces milk and the other lays eggs) so I took at extra period in class to explore these two terms.
This is what each group table came up with next. Too bad I didn’t take any close up shots!
