Division 3 students are keeping very busy these days! Two projects are in progress and one more is to come (Science).
1. Oral French & Nutrition – Since our school goal is to improve oral French, students will be cooking and presenting a recipe to the class. Groups of 4 were created and presentations will take place starting tomorrow. This will be time consuming so only one presentation per day will be taking place. A Google Doc was shared with everyone and you should be able to find all the information needed on there. A schedule has also been posted on our online calendar, which can easily be found on our class blog.
2. Ancient Civilizations – As part of our Social Studies program, students will be studying one Ancient Civilization of their choice. This project will be slightly different from previous projects I’ve done with my class as I’d like to encourage critical thinking. Other classes will also be involved in evaluating each of the civilizations studied. More details to come.
There are also many more fun things happening in class but due to a lack of time, I can’t share it all on this blog. If you’d like to get a closer look at what we are doing, don’t forget to look at our Twitter feeds or even better, come spend some time with us in class!
Two different outings will soon take place. If you haven’t done so, please return both permission forms to me. I am always looking for extra parent chaperones so let me know if you can help us out.
1) May 10: Visit to the Pacific Museum of the Earth and Ocean Sciences at UBC. We will be using public transit.
2) May 14: Visit to the Apple store, located at the Oakridge Centre. Students will be participating in a workshop in which they will be creating projects using iPads and iMovie. For this outing, we will also be using public transit.
Have a great evening!
